How long is the ideal use of the Eligence Junior platform?

According to the American Pediatric Society, the recommended time to use computers for educational activities should not exceed 60 minutes per day for kids aged 2 years and older.

We recommend that each kid should spend 30-45 minutes on Eligence Junior activities in order to achieve optimal learning goals.

We consider the roles of the parent in the kid’s first steps in the field of technology to be crucial, as their help decisively enhances the educational practice.

We want the gradual familiarization of the kid with electronic media to lead to a smooth relationship with technology. We seek to avoid potential shock from the kid’s excessive exposure to the medium. However, we should not be concerned about his involvement with it as Eligence Junior is an educational platform, built by experts and based on the latest guidelines and directions from the scientific community. Familiarity with technology media provides the kid with a head start and a necessary skill for their smooth integration into the information society. The necessity of using such media is proven and the Ministry of Education promotes ICT already from kindergarten onwards.

The parents in the activities we propose have the roles of partner/caregiver/co-therapist and can interact with their kid creatively while engaging with educational games. We propose an innovative way of creative use of children’s leisure time focused on learning benefits in line with the requirements of the educational program and modern society.

Since each child is unique, the approach must be individualized. Without deviating from the guidelines of the experts, we must let the child lead us regarding the time spent on the educational activities of the platform. We believe that familiarization can be done in sections, with sessions of 5-10 minutes for the first few weeks, and when the kid feels ready and wants to, this time can be extended, without exceeding the limit of one hour per day, as suggested by the international bibliography.
